Since the Quranic Revelation in the 7th century, the advances of modern science have never ceased to shed light on cosmic, biological and physical realities that the sacred text already evoked. For the proponents of concordism, each contemporary breakthrough thus confirms the depth and the truthfulness of the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah.
Yet, faced with these striking concordances, the Quranic text itself raises a timeless paradox: the accumulation of material proofs does not always suffice to win the heart's assent. As Surah Al-An'am underlines:
Surah Al-An'am (6), verse 25 « [...] Even if they saw every kind of proof, they would not believe in it. »
A reality also recalled in Surah Al-A'raf, which points to the inertia of those who turn away from the evident signs:
Surah Al-A'raf (7), verse 146 « And if they see the way of righteousness, they do not adopt it as a way [...] That is because they have denied Our signs and been heedless of them. »
Thus, while modern science brings objective and tangible confirmations to the Revelation, the Quran recalls that faith remains above all an inner journey, independent of empirical demonstration alone.
