There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people.

عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشِّفَاءَيْنِ: الْعَسَلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ

« Use the two remedies: honey and the Quran. »

الشِّفَاءُ فِي ثَلَاثَةٍ: فِي شَرْطَةِ مِحْجَمٍ، أَوْ شَرْبَةِ عَسَلٍ، أَوْ كَيَّةٍ بِنَارٍ

« Healing is in three things: an incision of cupping, a drink of honey, or cauterization with fire. »

العَسَلُ شِفَاءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ

« Honey is a cure for every disease. »

In Surah An-Nahl (16:68-69), the Quran declares about honey:

"From their bellies comes a drink of varying colors, in which there is healing for mankind."

The Quran states that honey contains "healing for mankind." Modern medicine has largely confirmed the therapeutic properties of honey: antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, use in treating burns and wounds, beneficial effects on the immune system.
